Job sharing

Girlguiding UK
supports flexible guiding and encourages job sharing
between adults in guiding in all roles.
Any individual may choose to undertake a role as a job-share
with one or more other adults. This should be discussed with the
appropriate Commissioner. The recruitment procedure is exactly the same as that
carried out for an individual undertaking a role.
Assistants and
deputies
Job sharing does not replace the role of assistant or deputy. It
is up to the appointing Commissioner to discuss with the
individuals concerned:
- whether the role is to be a job-share, or one or more people
take on the role of deputy or assistant, or both.
- if the role to be shared involves ex-officio membership of any
committee it must be discussed and agreed which individual will be
responsible for attending the meetings.
