The liability and personal accident policies for
Girlguiding UK cover all members and other persons associated with
Girlguiding UK while taking part in guiding. Members do not have to
be in guidewear for the policy cover to operate, but must adhere to
any rules or policies associated with the activity, otherwise any
claim may be invalidated.
Persons covered by the Association
insurances:
- Girlguiding UK and all its members, prospective members and
supporters.
- Constituent units, areas, Districts, Divisions, Counties, Friends of Guiding.
- Any employee of Girlguiding UK.
- Guides visiting foreign countries, whether nationals of the
country concerned or not.
- Any person not acting as a member of another organisation who
is authorised to be in charge of or supervise or otherwise assist
in guiding activities.
- Children of members while their parents are involved in guiding
activities.
- Girlguiding UK members of Student Scout and Guide
Organisations.
- The Guide Association Trust Corporation.
- The Trustees and members of the committee responsible for the
management of any property or premises belonging to or leased to
trustees for any unit.
- BGIFC whether nationals of the
country concerned or not.
- Non-members while involved in guiding activities.
- The Trefoil Guild.
- Voluntary and part-time instructors while working for
Girlguiding UK.
After the 75th birthday, partial personal accident insurance
only is available.
Before planning an adventurous activity that does not appear in
the A-Z of activities the Leader must
consult Girlguiding UK's insurance service, as in some cases it may
be necessary to obtain extra insurance cover.
Girlguiding UK's insurance service should be notified
immediately of any claims made against Girlguiding UK.
