Regulations
- The Leader must ensure that all participants
under the age of 18 have written permission to take part from an
adult with parental responsibility.
- The local Commissioner must be informed that
the activity is taking place.
- Carry out a risk
assessment for the activity.

Not applicable.
Useful
information
- Inflatables should be securely anchored to
the ground.
- Impact-absorbing mats should be placed at any
entrance/exit points.
- Participants should be supervised at all
times.
- The hirer agreement usually states the number
of adults required to supervise the inflatable.
- If you feel the activity is overcrowded (eg
participants are constantly colliding with each other), reduce the
number of participants using the equipment at one time.
- Participants should remove jewellery and any
sharp items of clothing (such as belts).
- It is recommended that adults and children do
not use an inflatable simultaneously. Be aware that not all
inflatables are designed for use by adults.
- Some swimming pools offer activities with
water inflatables. See the page for swimming
in a purpose-built pool for swimming regulations.
Hiring or using your own
inflatable
Please see the
website for The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents
for information on how to select a provider and safely set up and
